One Ingredient Ice Cream Recipe

While pinning on Pinterest, I came a cross this recipe for one ingredient ice cream. I was amazed and pinned it for later. Then decided to try it out this week when I found the main ingredient for 10cents a pound. What is the main ingredient you ask? Bananas! And that’s it. With a few tweaks, I made my own.

Here’s how I did it:

1.) Slice up bananas like coins (Our puppy Sherlock was very inquisitive!)
2.) Store in air tight container, and freeze
3.) Blend in food processor until it’s the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
My food processor didn’t handle the job well, so I switched to the blender, and it was perfect! During this stage, you can add mix in-s if you like. I added 2 table spoons of milk and a little bit of cinnamon.

4.) Pack into air tight container and freeze until ready to serve. Then you just scoop it out like a regular pint of ice cream!

It took a little adjusting the first time around, but I think for my little family, this is a great treat to whip up, especially in summer. And if you have a ton of bananas to use up, this is a great way to get started! I paid 10 cents a pound, so that makes my little glad container full about 20 cents max, for several servings worth. Good deal in my book 🙂
