8 Super Sweet Cake Recipes #SundayBlogHop

Happy Sunday, lovelies 🙂

Today I want to share a little personal story with you in addition to the round up and the blog hop.

5 years ago, I was at a little church with stained glass windows nestled in the hils near the Allegheny National Forest. Loved that little town who called it home. I loved even more the man I was approaching at the front of the chapel. A lot has happened in that short five years. Many miles traveled, laughs shared, tears shared and lessons learned together.

We spent our honeymoon like most do, away. Then returned to discover that our wedding cake was missing. Maybe it had been eaten, maybe lost, who really knows? I was a pretty chill bride (no seriously, I was a REALLY chill bride, no bridezilla over here at all!), so I just downplayed it and didn’t let it bother me. Told my new husband everything was okay and it didn’t really matter anyways.

5 years later, my husband walked towards me with a big grin on his face and an oldly shapped box in his hands. It was a wedding cake. All this time had passed and he had planned it ahead. He had a cake made by a local bakery to match our wedding colors. Isn’t it beautiful?! He did very well. #keeper

8 Super Sweet Cake Recipes
We celebrated our day together on a road trip. Of course. I’ll share about our travels in another post. But today, in honor or our anniversary, it’s all about cake.

All kinds of cake!

Here are 8 super sweet (in a good way!) cake recipes worth trying. Try not to get too hungry 😉

Pineapple Upside Down Cake – the classic cake of our parents and grandparents is classic and timeless for a reason.

Mini Bundt Cakes – super cute & great for wedding season and bridal showers!

Surprise Inside Cupcakes because surprises are fun! Especially when they involve cake.

Carrot Cake this one is a great option for those counting Weight Watchers points, or anyone who likes a little spice.

Oreo Cheesecake– better than “just” cake.

Mocha Cheesecake – better than cake plus chocolate? Yes!

Hummingbird Cake this one is a springtime favorite and one I’ve never heard of. But man oh man does it look fantastic or what???

Apple Cream Cheese Bundt Cake this would be amazing with a cup of tea, I’m sure!
