Three Ways to Take a Vacation to New Zealand Cheap

Everyone wants to take a vacation. Nobody wants to be the “all work, no play” type of person. Life is too short to not explore the wonders of this world and the cultures its people have developed. If you have not taken a vacation in a while, or if you have not taken one at all, then it is time to do so!

One of the top places to visit is New Zealand. This island nation has so many varying environments to experience and landscapes to be in awe of, it is hard not to put it at the top of your list of destinations to discover. The customs of the people are different yet still somewhat familiar enough to most of us in the Northern Hemisphere. The natural beauty the country has to offer is like no other. It is time for you to visit New Zealand!

But what if you are on a budget? What if you cannot afford a trip to New Zealand outright? That’s okay. Not everybody can. That is why it is so important to plan ahead. If you plan your trip right, and prepare for it ahead of time, then you will be able to take that long-deserved vacation to one of the most amazing places on Earth.

When it is time to take the trip you have planned for, make sure to pack everything you need; not just for the adventures you will be having in New Zealand, but also for the journey there. It is a 12 to 14 hours flight from Los Angeles, possibly up to 3 days because of layovers.

Be sure to bring your Fire Stick for streaming your favorite movies in the hotel, you do not want to be left with a large bill because you ordered movies. Also, bring your e-reader for recovering after a day of trekking, and your cell phone so you can stay in contact with friends back home, take amazing photographs of the amazing scenery, and listen to music during the trip.

Timing is Everything

Pick your vacation time carefully. While the rest of the world tends to vacation to New Zealand in the summer (wintertime in the Northern Hemisphere), the best time to visit is actually during the shoulder months of spring or fall. This is when tourists and Kiwis both tend to be working or are in school and are unable to travel.

Take advantage of these times of year; hotel accommodations will be cheaper, airlines will reduce the cost of their tickets to encourage travel, and local prices for food, gas, and attractions will be lower for the same reason.

Exchange Rates are Key

The conversion of your local currency, whether it be US dollars, British pounds, Euros, or any other, into New Zealand dollars will change daily. This means you will need to keep an eye on the exchange rates to make the most of your money. For the US, the exchange rate into NZ Dollars typically allows our money to go further. When the rates reach a point that they allow you to make the most out of your money in New Zealand, that is the time to jump. Get on that plane!

Restrict the Destinations

To make the most of your visit, and to help you save on money while on your vacation, restrict the number of attractions you want to visit. While you limit the number of locations to explore, you should expand the amount of time you spend at each one.

Firstly, you will be reducing the amount of money you spend of traveling between the various sites. Secondly, you can have more quality time at each one rather than rushing through them to get to another site. Don’t rush through your vacation, then you will need a vacation from the vacation.
