I’ve been buying whole hams for several months now. I bring them home, dice them, slice them, cube them and then freeze it all. But I just discovered that my church has a meat slicer. I learned how to do it and now have the option to slice all my own meat. Sliced ham is usually $4.99 and up per pound when it’s presliced, but when I buy a ham shank, I get it on sale for 99 cents a pound or less, that’s substantial savings! And it’s so nice to have ham on hand to add to soups and omelets anytime.
