Need a cheap date? Visit the local park!

Sometimes you just need a cheap date idea. Maybe finances are tight or maybe you just plain don’t feel like spending any money. Whatever the reason, you’ve come to the right place!

My husband and I love a good cheap date. Sometimes we can be super creative. Like going on a food challenge. Sometimes we default like the oldies but goodies, like the drive in.

One particularly fall day, we decided to spend some time together at the nearby county park. The leaves were just beginning to change and the evening was cool. My favorite time of year. Honestly. I LOVE it!

Our date didn’t cost a cent!

In the States, there are parks everywhere. They’re in big cities, in the suburbs and in the country. You don’t have to go far to find one. A lot of them have playground equipment available. Just because you’re grown doesn’t mean you don’t always have to act like it either.

We loved swinging together and giggling like school children. It helped that we had the park to ourselves 😉 If there were already kids playing, I’m not sure we would have used the playground equipment. But then again… I can imaging Bryan running around screaming and laughing just like one of the kids.

Since our park is a county park, with lots of acreage and trails, we took a walk on the trails too. We really should do it more often!

We made it a game of spotting the brightest colored leaves and hunting acorns.

It was a very chill kind of date. So if you’re trying to think of something low key and relaxing, this would be a great choice! Just put on some comfortable walking shoes and get out there.

You never know what you’ll find!

Especially if you bring the pooch. Our Sherlock always makes a trip to the park fun. He’s on high alert for anything his nose finds interesting.

Do you ever spend time together as a coupole at the park? Why or why not? Whatever your reason may be to not do it. You should really try it just once. Especially during the fall when the weather is perfect and everthing takes on new color.

We have a downtown plaza with water features that my husband and I love to visit. There are tables and chairs with huge umbrellas and we like to sit and people watch. Or bring a tablet/book and do some reading.

People watching is the best. We try to come up with elaborate stories about the people we see as well. Let’s just say we can get very creative!
