It’s not secret, I’m kind of excited about my new bread machine. I snagged it for only $9.99 at our local Goodwill. A great deal, seeing as it’s barely used and it retails for around $50 used on Amazon! Deal!!
I’ve been baking, baking and baking and discovered a super easy white bread recipe for bread machines. You should totally give it a try.
No, really.
It’s simple as dump the ingredients, hit a few buttons and go.
Look how pretty!
It’s easy too! Here’s how to make your own white bread at home with a bread machine.
Easy White Bread Recipe (For 2 pound bread machine)
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 c water
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 Tb sugar
- 1/4 c butter or oil
- 4 1/2 c flour
- 1 3/4 tsp yeast
Directions
- Put ingredients into bread pan in order listed above (i.e. water, then salt, then sugar etc)
- Choose cycle 1 or “basic bread” and set for 2 pound loaf size and desired crust. I did medium, but I’m thinking light would be better for next time!
- Press start.
- When done, remember to remove the kneading paddle and let it cool for 10 minutes or so before slicing.
- That’s it!
Bread machines make baking fresh bread so stinking easy! I like to serve ours with just butter or some Amish made jam like blackberry. Yum, now I’m getting hungry…
What’s your favorite bread machine recipe? Let me know in the comments so I can give it a try!

March 2, 2016 at 7:49 pmMy mom just gave me her bread maker and I haven’t used it yet because I’m a little intimidated. Your recipe sounds super easy though and I think I’m ready to give it a shot. Thanks for sharing at Inspiration Thursday!

February 26, 2016 at 8:57 pmI need to drag out my bread machine. I usually just make it in the oven, but when it is hot who wants to heat up the house? Thanks for sharing on the Creative K. Kids Tasty Tuesdays Linky Party. I hope you will join us again next week.
