Apps That Help You Save And Make Money #AtoZchallenge

Smartphones can be a real godsend. Seriously. They’re our GPS, phone, camera, toy etc. But here’s the thing: they can also provide a little payday boost.

Yep, using your phone can both PAY you and SAVE you money. If you’ve been around Because I’m Cheap before, you may have seen previous posts about smartphone apps. I love my apps.

Today I’ll be focusing on my absolute favorite apps that help me save loads of money. No really. Ready to dive in? Here goes…!

iBotta (pronounced like “I Bought A”)

This handy app gets you cash back on your groceries. Just link your store loyalty card to the app, then look for the rebates you want to redeem and clip them to your account or shopping list. Then go shopping. The money will be credited to your account and ready to withdraw to Paypal.

Here’s a screenshot of my current earnings. Yep that’s my maiden name ha.

I've earned $64.50 cashback on groceries!
I’d love if you joined my team via my link, we’ll both get extra credit!

SwagBucks

It’s more than just an app, but we’ll focus on the app today 🙂 SwagBucks is a rewards style program. You can earn points to redeem towards gift cards and products. I like to rack mine up for Amazon gift cards. To earn SwagBucks, you can go on the app and answer polls, watch videos and play games. All while earning. Then when you’re ready to cash out, just click on redeem and pick your poison 😉 I have a friend who has really gotten into it and just a few weeks ago cashed out for several Disney gift cards which she’ll use at Walt Disney World on souveniers. Genius! To join SwagBucks, you can use my link to earn extra SwagBucks here.

Field Agent

Ever heard of Mystery Shopping? Better yet, ever looked into mystery shopping and didn’t like the idea of waiting WEEKS to get paid? Field Agent is a lot like mystery shopping, with next to no wait on payments. Set up your profile and fill out a few surveys, then look at the map to find shops near you. You can earn anywhere from $3 to $30 per shop, just for snapping a few photos or checking inventory. Most jobs take 10 minutes or less. They pay out to Paypal within 2 to 3 business days, which makes for a fantastic way to make a quick buck or two!

Here’s a screenshot of my earnings. I haven’t worked at all on it in 2016, so this is my 2015 earnings.

Viggle

This is another point earning smartphone app. The cool thing with this one is that you can earn money while doing what you already do. Just open the app and watch your usual tv programs. You’ll earn points for watching tv. Who doesn’t watch tv? Well, yeah, I’m sure lots of people don’t, but for those of us who do… ta da! You can earn points for it which can be converted into gift cards. Easy peasy!

Checkout 51

This app works a lot like iBotta. Check the app for rebates on your favorite grocery products. Then go shopping and scan the receipt after your big trip. Afterwards, you can redeem to Paypal.

Which apps do you use to save money? Let me know in the comments.
